With deep ties to the historical Seven Famous Gardens, the Horii family has specialized in Uji matcha thought to be the highest quality matcha in the world for centuries. Dating back to 1879 (Meiji 12), Horii Shichimeien has a well-earned reputation for obsessing the art and traditions of tea farming while exploring new technologies to push the craft forward.
Their ceremonial blend has been produced with a unique machine-milling process, exclusive to this blend, that results in a much finer powder. It's easier to whisk, making it more accessible for everyday at-home use. This, of course, is with careful intention, as Horii Shichimeien aims to create gateways for more and more people to enjoy authentic Uji matcha in the everlasting spirit of Hinshitsu-Hon’i (“Quality First”).
